The collection includes magazine articles (1995); copied map of Mt. Belvedere; photographs from Kiska and 10th Mountain reunions; outline of Peterman's military career (1999-2000); roll of honor booklet (1992); cartoon from Ski Illustrated (1944); special order files (201 file) (1944-1945) and newspaper clippings. Included are copies of two books with hand-written comments by Peterman: "Saga of the Mountain Soldiers" (1981) by Curtis W. Casewit and "Boys of Winter" (2005) by Charles Sanders.

Sidney C. Peterman was born in Portsmouth, N.H. in 1920. He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. in January 1943 and began his military career as mortar platoon leader in Company H of the 87th Mountain Infantry Division at Camp Hale, Colo. in May 1943. Peterman was later assigned to command Company F of the 87th Infantry Division.
